Varna

Varna also spelled Warna, seaport and thirdlargest city in Bulgaria. Varna is the biggest city on the Bulgarian sea coast and is situated at the Bay of Varna. Varna has a population of 312026. Varna is an important administrative, economic, cultural, and resort centre. It is a modern city, with wide, tree-lined boulevards, a fine park on the waterfront, and spacious beaches. Varna has several universities, a naval academy, oceanography and fishery-research institute, a medical school, museums, a theatre, an opera house, and an art gallery.
Much of Bulgaria's maritime and river transport passes through Varna's harbour, which accommodates vessels up to 20,000 tons.

How to get to Varna

Varna has regular domestic airline services and, in the summer, international flights. Regular boat and bus services connect the Black Sea towns. There are express trains from varna to Plovdiv and Sofia. There are also bus lines to all the main destinations in Bulgaria and abroad as well. The fastes way to get to Varna is by plane.
